Earth-Friendly Cleaners Rule
Until 60 years ago, everyone used non-toxic, coconut-based cleaners. When coconut imports came to a standstill during World War II, American chemists invented modern-day "miracle detergents" to replace them. It's these chemical super detergents that are harmful to the earth, wildlife and humans.
Supermarket cleaners are made from petroleum, a non-renewable resource. Some of their main ingredients, oil-derived phosphates, get into lakes and oceans and cause algae overgrowth that suffocates our marine friends.

Researchers are linking estrogen-like chemicals found in conventional household products, like dish soaps, to lower sperm counts and to increasing rates of breast and prostate cancers. According to a French study, men's sperm levels in developed countries have dropped 50% over the last 40 years.
Family planning isn't all that's gone awry. Estrogenic chemicals have also been linked to birth defects in human sexual organs. Estrogenic chemicals may disrupt reproduction in wildlife, including bald eagles and common toads. These chemicals have also been linked to birth defects inhuman sexual organs.
